Thanks for your interest in Plone Bootcamps!
ADVANCED BOOTCAMP OPENS FOR REGISTRATION
The much-awaited Advanced Bootcamp opens for registration!
Date: Mon, Sep 11-Wed, Sep 13
Location: Downtown San Francisco, CA
This 3-day course is intended for experienced Plone developers and
customizers--people who have taken my Plone Developer bootcamp, or have a
similar amount of experience (unsure?: just ask!). It will cover: advanced
Archetypes issues, good development practices, debugging, and lots of
real-world, hands-on tested strategies for using Plone effectively.
I've opened this for registration now, but won't be announcing it on
for a few days--so you'll have a chance to book now, before the public.
[And, to answer a FAQ: no, I have no plans to offer the advanced bootcamp
anywhere except San Francisco for now. I do plan to offer the regular
developer bootcamp in the future, both in SF and other cities around the
SF CAMP A SUCCESS
The first-ever San Francisco bootcamp finished last week very successfully.
Over 30 students from around California, and around the world (two
internationally!) visited to enjoy the cool summer weather and excellent
camaraderie. Look soon for new quotes from these students.
Thanks to all the students, and my SF area volunteers that made this
PORTLAND CLASS SELLS OUT
The first-ever Portland bootcamp, held next week at the historic Portland
building, sold out! There are still some interested Portland-area Plone
people, no doubt--but don't fear! There will be another SF bootcamp in the
early fall, and it looks like I'll be presenting again in the Pacific
Northwest to coincide with the Plone Conference in Seattle in October.
FUTURE CLASSES PLANNED
Two future courses are being prepared:
- Archetypes Bootcamp: a hands-on, real-world course on developing new
types with Archetypes. This course assumes you're experienced with Plone
(know the basics of Page Templates, installation, etc.), but want to really
understand the tips and tricks of Archetypes and type creation via UML.
- CSS Camp: a hands-on introduction to real-world CSS usage, focusing
specifically on best practices for stylizing Plone sites.
I'll announce these in the near future!
