A few topics that might be interesting:

 - Methods of extending python using ctypes/pyrex/rpython/boost/swig etc.
 - OLPC project and its usage of python.
 - Twisted, we have a bunch of twisted hackers that make it to lca.
 - IronPython on Mono?
