Some months ago I was sent a letter from lawyers representing the distributors of LinkBot.  The letter basically asked me to cease and desist from using the name "Linbot" and in any way referring any of my software to LinkBot.  I decided to comply with their wishes, and so brought the Linbot site down and removed the software.

Since I hadn't been actively developing Linbot in a while, this seemed like the easiest solution.  I had considered re-releasing the software under a different name, but I just haven't gotten around to it.  It hasn't been a big priority.

Recently I have been getting a lot of "Where's linbot" messages in the email.  Some I responded to with the above story.  Some I promised to soon release the software under a new name.  But obviously I haven't done that yet, and I think it's about time I at lease have some kind of explanation on the site.

I'd love to make everyone happy.  I wish I could do all the things and enable all the features that linbot users want.  But unfortunately I just don't have the time that I used to and, frankly, my interest in the project is not what it was in the beginning.

Will do a re-release?  Yes, I will.  When?  Real Soon Now :-)  So look here periodically for updates.
